Purpose of Research

The purpose of this action research study is to investigate and develop effective workplace training and implementation models for staff members in higher education serving in crisis related roles. Effective workplace training for this study is defined as training that results in knowledge gained being implemented or attempted to be implemented in the participant’s workplace setting, and potentially result in increases in staff morale and retention and a decrease in negative mental health outcomes due to workplace trauma. Knowledge generated is expected to inform better workplace training and practices surrounding crisis related roles.

Research Informed Issues and Solutions

Learn about the latest trends and issues within the workplace and what you can do to help manage these situations

Change Management and Systems Change

Change in higher education is hard, but not impossible. This course will cover the Kotter Model of Change Management, Water of Systems Change, and other models to help make lasting change and impacts that are supported

Impact Plan Development

Have dedicated time within the course to develop your own impact plans that will be directly impactful to your team and your community
